The intresting thing is I have signed up for a free trial with another smart dns provider and all is working ie nowtv box and all uk filmon channels.

Thanks for reply, but the dns settings in my router need to be overplays for the nowtv box to work so if the pi is connected to same router no filmon. While we're aware that people may be going around the IP restrictions by obtaining a UK IP via VPN software such as Hotspot Shield or Expat Shield, this is beyond our control and we can't encourage this or supply any help in setting it up.Īmend your DNS settings on your pi/ android box to 8.8.8.8 and you will get all the filmon related services back again. As a result we can only show World Cup coverage from UK channels to customers that have a UK IP address. Unfortunately FIFA has requested for us to block all World Cup coverage on our UK channel streams. Perhaps you might want to give that a go.Ī standard email response from Filmon about this was: In fact I know some users who are!Ĭurrently many people are able to use iPlayer and ITV player on pi with NO, VPN or Smart DNS service connected. I dare say some other IPTV services and Dreambox users which use clones from Filmon itself will likewise be affected. This affects all Android and pi users with anyone of the Filmon, Nofilmon, FTV and Expat tv setups. It shows how vulnerable all those of us who use such services can be. Overplay support seem stuck say will get back to me :(įilmon has disabled UKTV under "instructions" from believe it or not FIFA whilst the World Cup is in progress.

The filmon non uk channels work fine with smart dns also bbc/itv etc work from webpage and in xbmc. It has been running fine on gotham openelec with overplay dns in router or in openelec settings but since yesterday wont connect unless set back to original dns, this happens also on my linux desktop even going to filmon webpage. I am just asking if anyone is having problems with filmon/ftv etc on raspberry xbmc,
